No heating, no hot water, or a boiler that keeps cutting out. Our Gas Safe registered engineers repair all makes and models across Darwen, Blackburn and Lancashire, day or night.
Don't touch any switches or use a naked flame. Open the windows, turn the gas off at the meter if it's safe to reach, get everyone outside and call the National Gas Emergency Service free on 0800 111 999. If anyone feels unwell, call 999. Once the supply has been made safe, give us a ring and we'll sort the boiler.
Most breakdowns come down to a handful of causes. These are the ones we get called out to most across Darwen and Blackburn.
The call we get most. Often a failed pump, diverter valve, circuit board or ignition fault. We find the cause and tell you the fix before any work starts.
If the gauge has dropped below 1 bar the boiler may lock out. Sometimes it's a quick top-up, sometimes a leak or a tired expansion vessel that needs sorting properly.
Water under or around the boiler usually means a failed seal, valve or heat exchanger. Best caught early, before it damages anything else.
Kettling, trapped air or a struggling pump. A noisy boiler is usually telling you something, and it's cheaper to listen now than later.
Flashing lights or a fault code on the display. We work on all makes and models and know what those codes actually mean.
Boiler won't fire up, or the flame keeps going out. Could be a thermocouple, gas valve or ignition lead. All fixable.
None of these involve opening the boiler casing. If you're unsure about any of them, leave it and give us a ring instead.
Still not working after these? That's what we're here for.
Call 07540 275078It should normally sit between 1 and 1.5 bar when the system is cold. If it's dropped, your boiler manual will show how to top it up using the filling loop.
Sounds obvious, but a knocked thermostat or a timer that's lost its settings after a power cut catches plenty of people out.
Make sure the boiler has power and the fused switch next to it hasn't been knocked off.
Most boilers have a reset button. Press it once and give it a few minutes. If it locks out again, stop there and call us.
In a freeze, the white plastic pipe outside can ice up and shut the boiler down. Pouring warm (not boiling) water along it often gets things going again.
Tell us what the boiler's doing, the make if you know it, and where you are. We'll let you know when an engineer can get to you.
A Gas Safe engineer finds the fault and explains the fix and the cost before any work starts. No surprises on the bill.
We carry out the repair, check everything is running safely, and talk you through anything worth keeping an eye on.
Every engineer is on the Gas Safe Register. That's the legal requirement for gas work in the UK, and the first thing to check with anyone touching your boiler.
We're Baxi Approved installers, and just as comfortable with Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Viessmann, Glow-worm and the rest.
Boilers don't break down to a schedule. Our emergency line is open around the clock for breakdowns across Darwen, Blackburn and Lancashire.
Every engineer is DBS-checked and fully insured, and we're vetted members of the CARE Network charity, so our standards get checked by someone other than us.
If a repair isn't worth it on an older boiler, we'll say so and give you honest options, rather than patching something that'll fail again next month.
Based in Darwen and covering Blackburn and the wider Lancashire area, with someone in the office full-time to keep you updated.

If the boiler is getting on in years and the repair is expensive, a new boiler is often the better long-term option. We'll give you an honest view either way, and as Baxi Approved installers we can fit a replacement if that's the right call.
If it's simply not heating, you're usually fine to switch it off and wait for us.
